Sometimes, waiting or sacrificing things is actually just opening the door for God to grant us the desires of our hearts in a spectacular way...

Sarah's Thirteen

Jeremiah 29:11 says, "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."

Today not only do we celebrate the Resurrection of our LORD and Savior, Jesus Christ, but we also had the joy of celebrating our daughter's birthday!  Thirteen years have gone by so quickly...  We are so thankful for the gift of Sarah in our lives... and so proud of the young woman she is becoming.

The gift of a beautiful ring...
a tangible reminder to strive to maintain strong faith and whole heart purity...
a symbol of our enduring love for her...
and, most importantly, representing the everlasting love of Christ...
whom she has welcomed within her heart.

What a blessing to walk this journey with her...

Happy Birthday sweet Sarah!

March in the Rear View Mirror

This week I have been playing catch up on life as we are settling back into a normal routine after a hectic month of March.

Having spent a good seven months overseas, the kids and I decided we needed a trip back to the homeland!   It was a nice break and a time of recharging our batteries... we met up with family and friends and truly enjoyed each and every moment...

Sarah, Buck and Isabelle...

While we were in Idaho,  Memories were made at the Kronz family farm... we all took turns riding Buck, Isabelle's pride and joy!

It was wonderful to spend time with my life long friend... chatting about what the future holds... our children are growing up fast... right before our eyes.

Almost a grown man now, Josiah 17, is still not too old
to spend time with Thomas...

We also enjoyed a lovely visit with our dear friends, the St Michell family.  We shared a wonderful meal accompanied by lots of chatting and playing....we sure do miss our church family back in Idaho.

Of course we also enjoyed a lions share of time in fellowship with Grandma and Grandpa and Aunt Ruth and Uncle Jonathan... enjoying evenings with good meals and conversation around the fire...

Onward to California, we spent a couple of weeks in Palm Springs... just enjoying the warm sun...and swimming in the pool...Grandma Linda, Pop Pop Jake and Grandma Joan treated us with luxurious accommodation and care!   We enjoyed lots of good meals and fabulous Mexican food!  (something we are missing in Australia...)

We had an early celebration for Sarah... 13 Candles on the Birthday Cake!

We also had an opportunity to make a trip into Los Angeles to visit with my Grandpa... it was wonderful to get to spend some time with him as well as his sister... my Great Aunt Sara.

My Great Aunt Sara with Sarah, her namesake.

My Grandpa and his Sister, Sara... Pop Pop Jake and Grandma Linda... Sarah, Thomas and me!

A visit to Palm Springs would not be complete without a trip to the Living Desert, a local Palm Springs Zoo and Botanical Garden.

The Desert in Bloom...

They have an amazing train layout set up there... Thomas was in heaven!

It was difficult to say goodbye... but we missed our Daddy and needed to get back home to be a whole family again.  We arrived home energized and ready to begin the Fall season in Sydney...

While we were away... my husband purchased a car!  So we are all set to hit the road more often and see the sights of Australia!

We are truly blessed... and thanking God every day for His mercy and His grace in our lives.
